There are achievements that feel good in the moment, and then there are achievements that redefine the trajectory of your life. My paper, The Law of Control, being officially invited for publication in the upcoming release of the Journal of Organizational Psychology belongs firmly in the latter category. This isn’t a simple accomplishment — it’s an earthquake in my field, a signal that my work resonates at the highest level of academic recognition. The Journal of Organizational Psychology doesn’t just publish anyone; it selects voices that challenge, innovate, and push boundaries. For them to invite me — not me chasing them — is the ultimate validation that my thinking, my research, and my vision are not just relevant but essential to the global conversation on psychology and organizational behavior. The Law of Control itself represents a bold step forward, reframing how we understand influence, self-determination, and the structures that shape both individual lives and collective systems. It’s a concept born out of relentless curiosity, countless hours of study, and an unapologetic refusal to accept “the way things have always been done.”
But the recognition doesn’t stop there. My work hasn’t only caught the attention of academic circles; it has captured the public eye as well, with a feature in Huisgenoot highlighting not only the brilliance of the research but the story of resilience and vision behind it. To stand at the intersection of rigorous academia and mainstream relevance is rare — and it’s exactly where I’ve planted my flag. This dual recognition proves that my ideas aren’t confined to ivory towers; they ripple outward into the world, sparking conversation, inspiring others, and breaking barriers for what young scholars and creators can achieve.
When I say this is only the beginning, I mean it. To already be shaping discourse in Q4 projects, to be simultaneously producing books that demand a more editorial, elevated kind of storytelling, and to be building a brand around knowledge and creativity — it’s all part of a much larger vision. The Law of Control, my invitation to one of the most respected journals in my field, and my feature in one of South Africa’s most iconic publications all converge to say one thing: I am not waiting for permission to matter. I am claiming my place, unapologetically, as both a voice of authority and a creator of the future.
